I need to know the best areas in, around or near Central Florida for turkey in the fall.... I have found the WMA areas, but they are few, and most are kinda far away. I really don't want to waste my time going to one that is over rated. Does anyone have experience hunting fall turkey in my area on public lands??? If so which WMA produced best..
Yes I know, it's a stupid question, but now with gas getting expensive again, I really dont want to waste a trip to some place that doesn't have a decent population of turkey.
Oops, I saw Orlando in your sig. I think Three Lakes is decent. Others may differ. Of course if you can find a private ranch you will be in Turkey heaven.

I think it's not a fall season but you can take a bird during archery 3 lakes.......i'm not saying thats the way it is, just make sure you find out first, lol.

here's this years 3 lakes hunts copied and pasted from the brochure....
to me a fall season is like spring gobbler/gun hunt...but in the fall, lol....
you can take a turkey in the fall while bow hunting only....thats just an added critter choice.

Regulations shall apply. Hunting with firearms or crossbows is prohibited, except that centerfire shotguns are allowed for hunting migratory birds when one or more species are legal to take (see Migratory Bird section and the current Migratory Bird Hunting Regulations pamphlet).
MUZZLELOADING GUN SEASON:
October 30 through November 1.

Legal to Take - Deer with at least one antler 5 inches or more in length, wild hog, gray squirrel, quail, rabbit, raccoon, opossum, armadillo, beaver, coyote, skunk, nutria and migratory birds in season.
Regulations Unique to Muzzleloading Gun Season - In addition to these regulations, all General Area Regulations shall apply. Only muzzleloading guns are allowed for hunting, except that centerfire shotguns are allowed for hunting migratory birds when one or more species are legal to take (see Migratory Bird section and the current Migratory Bird Hunting Regulations pamphlet)..
GENERAL GUN SEASON:
November 14-15, 16-18, 19-22 and November 23 through January 10.
