Get a tree stand, it will help enormously. Learn about tree stand safety prior to just jumping into it though.

Are you still hunting or using a blind?

If your in Chantilly you need to get off the ground. Believe it or not Fairfax deer are pretty smart and by this time of the year they know whats going on. Get in a tree, hopefully one with a little cover.

gorrilas and Rivers edges are both good stands that work really well. Also, really cheap ones that arent too bad are for sale at dicks in Fair lakes, you can get ladder stands for $40 and hang ons for like $30. I have a couple ladder stands they sell there and there not half bad for $40, plus if you have never used a stand before its kind of a safer beginners approach.

Yeah they sell them at d i c k s. You can use what ever scents you want, you just cant use bait. This time of the year i just use basic cover scent like an earth smell or something along those lines, I hunt a big pine thicket sometimes so there i use pine smell. If your in hard woods id use earth masking scent. Dont use any estorous or any of that, you will just spook them this time of the year. If you buy a ladder try to find a set up where you can hide the stand, that way the deer wont see you very easily. this late in the season you tend to stick out no matter how you hunt. especially in open hardwoods.
