Default New to Fl deer hunting

Hi Im from Tampa and new to hunting and Im trying to find out how to hunt this hunt area. I just went to Citrus for the archery hunt up there with no sucess. I know that deer love acorns but thats all I know. I was wondering if I can't find the acorns is there any vegetation that they feed on? Im going back for the Dec 13-14 gen gun hunt so im trying get a little more informed before I go back up.

Palmetto berries, ground oaks....they like new growth as well, any burned or freshly mowed areas.....

also hunt near or in heavy cover (thick brush). deer are more relaxed and tend to walk more in or near heavy cover for protection. also look for area's where there are acorns on the ground and deer tracks. palmetto berries are another favorite to deer. every deer i have shot this year has been full of palmetto berries. try to find area's "off the beaten path", generally the farther you walk the better off you are.
