Pettigrew is in Caroline county. You are NOT allowed to use rifles but you can use shotguns with slugs or Muzzleloaders at the time you are hunting.

In the counties (including the cities and towns within) of Amelia, Appomattox, Brunswick, Buckingham, Caroline, Charlotte, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Fluvanna, Goochland (west of U.S. Route 522), Louisa, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway, Prince Edward, and Prince George.
Either-sex Deer Hunting Days:
[ul][*]November 22, November 29, and December 29-January 3: In all areas unless otherwise noted below.
[ul][*]November 22, November 29, and December 6-January 3: On the Featherfin WMA[*]November 22: On the Appomattox-Buckingham, Cumberland, and Prince Edward State Forests. [/ul][/ul]
Caroline county gun regs are 6 and 17

Good luck hunting there. I took my daughter ther eopening day last year and the local hunt club ran their dogs through there right at first light to push the deer out of there, and onto land the hunt club leased. Needless to say only 1 buck was taken all day.
