Arbuckle is a favorite place of mine. Itsone of the closest WMA's to me. Hard to get around there unless you stick to the trails or are going through an area that was recently burned. Thick thick palmetto. Have seen more game at Arbuckle in one year than in 3 years out at green swamp. You can only hunt archery and muzzleloader there. My hunting area took a hit from the storms.... water about knee deep where it is normally dry. Lots of sand scrub, palmetto, and marshy areas.

Although I have never hunted the bombing range I would imagine thatArbuckle is eeriely similar to the bombing range as they are located on opposite sides of the same lake.

Wow this was the same question I was going to ask, crazy. I've never been to Arbuckle but I've been thinking about going to scout out the area. I live in Lake Placid so its one of the closest areas for me to hunt. Any info would be much appreciated.

Reb

Good night !!! Reb has got one heck of a memory..I drove down there once and when my odometer said 50 miles..[&o]I thought nah..I'll learn the Green Swamp even if it kills me..I got as far as the School Bus road..and the thick terrain turned me off..and rumors of rattlesnakes ..but mostly the 100 miles round trip..I decided to learn the Green Swamp no matter what..

Sorry I couldn't help..
