Default Ft. Belvoir

Well I think I'm going to give Belvoir a try this year in order to get some before and after work hunting in. If anybody is planning on hunting there let me know. Also, if anybody has the lay of the land down pretty well I'm open for some direction on where to hunt.....that is if your willing tell me some good places to start. If you don't want to post on the open forum feel free to PM me. Take care all.

www.vdgif.com has a link to the FB hunting homepage under their Find Game sectionwith all of the info about hunting there if you needed that. The maps on that site are not the greatest but if you already have a map of the hunting area you can pull it up on http://maps.live.com and zoom in on the entire base then switch it to the birds eye view format for some great overhead shots taken by plane rather than satellite. They are very detailed and may be helpful.

I hunted there in the late 90's (2 seasons) and didn't take a deer. I did see deer everytime out but none got close. I used to shot on a rifle team in hs that practiced there and used to see deer all the time but not in places you could hunt. You may want to try the proving grounds off of Backlick Road in Springfield, if they still let you hunt that. Not too many guys went to that and I use to always see deer in there( used to live close by). The problem is getting back to the archery station to turn in your passes and check in a deer. Its kind of a pain to drive down, come back up, then back down but may be worth it. Good Luck.

I am glad someone else feels Sunday is a bad day for me to hunt and this is why I can't hunt on Sundays.
