Default Getting transfered to Ft Hood.

Hey guys I am getting transfered to Fort Hood any body on here know what the hunting is like around that area and on the post.

Have not hunted there myself but my brother-in-laws son is stationed there and he has told me they have lots of land to hunt right on base. There are regulations, especially concerning firearms, so you will need to check further.

Due east of you abit..... "East Texas",near the town of Crockett..... you'll find Angelina National Forest. The NWTF completed a very successful restocking of Eastern Turkeys several years ago. They get a fair amount of pressure,but if you get off the roads aways you should find some pretty decent hunting. With the exception of the Military Reservation itself,you'll find very little public land around Ft. Hood and Kileen..... Best of luck and thanks for your service..............
