Anybody hunt in Clay County, NC?

I've got a buddy who has a house near Warne, which is just inside the NC border. I'm going up in a few weeks to hang out and I thought about doing some scouting while I'm there. Have any of you hunted there and how was it? I'm particularly interested in bowhunting, but I love to hunt so tell me what you know. Thanks.

I live just down the road in Murphy. I hunt quite a bit in Clay County. Deer hunting is pretty good up around Warne. We don't have a lot of deer in this end of the state, but Warne is one of the better places. I turkey hunt some up around that area. There is a good turkey population around there.

I was just looking at the dates and I'm going up a week early for Turkey season. I might take a call and see if I can hear some gobblin'. Do you happen to know if there is any good trout fishing in that area?

Oh yeah. Lots of great trout fishing up that way. And your in luck. Trout season opens the Saturday before turkey season...

Well, not going after all. My buddies wife is having surgery on short notice this week so we are going to have to reschedule. Maybe he'll reschedule during turkey season.
