Default Anyone bagged a turkey stalking them?

I saw this on youtube. They were not successful. Can you stalk a turkey?

I stalked up on some last year----I dropped down behind some fallen trees and waited for them. I put my 20 yard pin on the lead turkey when they stopped....he was 25 yards out and my arrow sailed right below him. They didn't know what to do and just kind of stood there...they walked off....I was bummed but felt good that I could draw silently on them from the ground.

absolutely. We do alot of stalking out in Kansas and Nebraska. The open space and rolling hills make for good stalking conditions. The birds out there aren't the wariest either.

I guess I have never tried to stalk a turkey. I have always just set up and tried calling them in, but I have not bagged a turkey either. I just thought with their vision it would be next to impossible to stalk them, but I guess not.

Cheers,
Chris

oh yeah. for years i did the sit and call thing, hunting with my dad and some other old timers. a few years ago i started hunting with some guys who are constantly on the move. consatntly locating and going to the birds(within a safe distance) and then setting up. the last three years i have been very successful.
