Default hunters of the ozarks...

i live in north central arkansas, and we have a slight doe population problem in these parts. it seems everytime i see a few does working a field, the buck never shows up. how do i find the big boys?? i don't call or rattle due to lack of know how, i used the primo's can call last year and spooked a great buck with it.

i've heard if you turn those cans too slow it sounds kinda scratchy, like a doe in distress.may be wrong though.

Hey guys
I have done some experimenting with the calls this year at different times, days, weather conditions, etc. and I found the only time I had much success is during the short rutting period we had in NW Arkansas. I have had a good year this year but not from the use of calls, maintaining food plots has been the reason for the success and the fact that the buck to doe ratio is really high this year. I have seen bucks this year like I usually see does. I had six bucks feeding together in early fall with the smallest one being a really nice six, four that were eights and a ten or eleven, not sure yet!!!
