Default thermocell

This past bow season I went to the thermocell. If your not familiar it is a thermal bug repelant. Many of myfriends suggested andrecommended it to me. However I believe the deer can smell the thermals it produces. As a human I can smell it so whats that say. The company claims it to be scent proof to wildlife. I had 3 occasions w/ my bow that deer walked up on me and began to blow and wheeze and get out of the area. I am areal fan of scent-lock technology so I just find it hard to believe they reacted to my scent. Anyone here use this repelant or have any suggestions? thanks...best of luck to all

I used it the first few days of bow when it was hot. I was starting to get bit, so I turned it on and had no bug problems the rest of the afternoon. I had a buck walk by at 5 yards, he didnt wind me.
That was the only time I had a deer near me when I was using it, so I can't really tell you if they smell it or not.

I'd venture to say if you can smell it, so can they!

I have hunted with the Thermacell for 3 years now. The first year (before I had the holster for it) I accidently kicked it out of the stand. There is laid on the ground at the base of my tree still going. I had a doe and fawn come in 15 yds downwind and never winded me or it. I believe in them. I would venture to say that they would smell you and associate human odor (probably breath) to danger before they would stomp and blow because of the thermacell scent. Just my humble opinion. I will continue to use my thermacell and have had great results. More chance of them seeing me swat skeeters than bust and run b/c of the thermacell odor.

I Swear by mine, I've had deer walk within 10 yds of my stand w/o a problem.

i believe they can smell it because i can smell it BUT they don't associate that smell with danger. i've had deer all around me on numerous occaisions while my Thermocell was on without being spooked.
