It was 104 degrees here today. Hunting is way down the list on what I would want to do Sunday.

Ahh!

Boone County, one of my most memorable hunts was in Boone County, between Mud Lick and South Fork ... do you know where those roads are KYDeerHunter?

The 1978 State Record was killed there, close to Doc Angel's place ...

Ya I am pretty sure I know where it is. Mud Lick creek runs through the woods I hunt. I have seen some awesome bucks out here and I am gonna try and stick either an arrow or a bullet in one this year.

I never knew the state record was taken this close to home, thats pretty cool. Usually all the big bucks are taken in the western parts of KY.

Here is that pic of that squirrel

I live on Southfork. Wish more people allowed you to hunt. I only have 7 acres and take deer every year but would love to hunt Angels place, or over that way! Just to have some more land to move on to. I do have 170 acres behind me but theres quite a few others there also. It's always nice to see others from the area on here.

Hey BigBoyky,
I've hunted from behind Duck Head Inn all the way to Paints Lick Road. I use to hunt Peter Teremi's land that the Boone County Bow Club bought out twelve or thirteen years ago. It's adjacent to Doc Angel's place.

Do you know Rick Peace or Lloyd Merida they both lived on South Fork Rd.?
Merida had the Taxidermy and deer processing on South Fork for years, right there on the corner before you go across that little bridge.

Rick Peace still lives in the house before you get to Merida's.

I know that land so well I could hunt it blind-folded and never get lost.

Do you own the land that the Steele's (from Ohio) sold in parcels years ago across from Merida's to the right?

I read where the Wilson's just auctioned three big blocks of land that went all the way to Big Bone Dock. I hunted that too.
