I guess we will find out. You planning to do much archery hunting out there (GS)? I want to try to get out at least one morning a weekend. See what the family commitments let me do. I hope to get a deer or a hog. I feel good about getting one of the two or at least seeing them. I am kind of rusty with my bow and as such my range is limited to twenty yards or under right now.

Florida can grow them big too, this one scored 128, my buddy killed it off our land last year. We have a 100 inch rule, got to give them a chance if you want big bucks.

I guess we will find out. You planning to do much archery hunting out there (GS)?Yes sir...for me..that will be our best opportunity. I was justout there.The river is just about dried up on the Rockridge gate side. I used Google Earth to help me find water.I'm a teacher and my principal is like a drill sergeant..so getting time off will be tough. I plan to do quality hunts..meaning stay all day and keep quiet. Have you ever shot anything in the Green Swamp?..I got one hog and one spike deer...This will be my 6th year. Last year I had a doe walk up to me during archery..My bow was hanging in the tree.never again....She was about 10 yds away. I also had a small hog walk up about 5 yds away..My knees started shaking and I could not stand..[&:]I want to try to get out at least one morning a weekend..Since archery is not that long.I plan to hunt all day Saturdays and Sunday morngins before church.. See what the family commitments let me do. I hope to get a deer or a hog.You and me both..You really have to be pretty good to score in the Green Swamp. I feel good about getting one of the two or at least seeing them.Seeing them is pretty good out there, Last year I saw 2 big bucks running across a trail in front of me while archery hunting..8 and a 10 point.I had a doe walk up to me and i had about4 diffeent deerblowing at me..One nearly walked on me during turkey season. I then had a bunch of hogs snorting around my tree right after I climbed up i it..It was still dark.Then I saw a sow and a young one..I am kind of rusty with my bow and as such my range is limited to twenty yards or under right now. Mine is right on at 20 ..i'm happy about that.

Some things I plan to do differently this year..

1. Wash all clothes in baking soda ..and saturate with scent proof.

2. Leave calls at home.

3. Pee in a bottle and keep in the backpack

I don't like heights .last year I was at about 13 foot. This year I'm going for 16' by faith

4. Stay longer..don't give up.

5.Try to keep still

Those animals are constantly sniffing and smelling.They are not stupid. There is alot of pressure out there so one needs to sharpen their skills to the max.
