I have a pair of LaCrosse lace ups. They're pretty comfortable & waterproof to the top. Haven't tested them on a rattler yet and hope I don't have to, but just in case....
They are made lighter than a pair of Rockys I had that were similar too & the Rockys didn't seem to hold water out as good either.

Unless you are going to work in a snake pit, why don't you instead try a pair of snake proof chaps? You can get them for about $65 a pair and they will last for years. They are also great for turning briars. I wear them all the time in the woods, mainly for the briar aspect.

mike bell, I also have the RedHead 16" Snake Boot and it’s a great wearing boot. But like timbercruiser I also have a pair of snake proof chaps That I slap on over them. Like timbercruiser said, works great for briar, and snakes do hit above the calf some times. Also snake proof chaps are great if you don't get hit on the boot That’s the reason Snake Boot and snake proof chaps go well together. And yes I have cruised Timber in places that looked like snake pit Hell.
