Default QUICK SC INFO? Blue Ridge Mtns

I'm here in Esley SC for the night. Going to be leaving tomorrow AM to head N/NE and want to take in the mountains burning off the fog in the morning. Ought to be quite the sight for a "Chicagoboy". I plan on grabbing breakfast and then to Table Rock State Park to start out.

Any suggestions as to a nice scenic route thru the mountains would be appreciated.

Basically we're headin to Hersey PA - but not in a hurry.

Thanx for any help.

take I-26 to asheville and then take the blue ridge parkway north ends in waynesboro va then the skyline dr takes up for a 100 miles or so. its a long drive (most of the speed limit is 45 ) but it is a pretty drive great view in a lot of places. good luck

I echo what others have said. Blue Ridge Pkwy is beautiful, winding, and slow in spots. You also have to be on the lookout for Grandma and Gramps in a silver Buick, doing 25 mph...

You mentioned fog. Whoa, my wife Margaret and I went on the Blue Ridge one morning and, honestly, we couldn't see 10 feet in front of the car! [&:] Wait until some of the fog burns off and it'll be a little safer drive....

THANKS A BUNCH GUYS! I knew I could count on some of you.

I think I'll put an adult Depends on and let the wife do some driving so I can man the camera for a while. (I can be daring!)

Of course first she has to agree to drive - she does not like the mountains - period. Of course I have Hoss. He can ride shotgun and is probobly a better cameraman than myself. (Getting him to take orders can be a process though.)

Pics to follow in a week or so.
