Kentucky opening day of Turkey hunting.

Just wondering if anyone else from the blue grass state spent opening day getting wet. My son and I spent the day in blinds and only seen one tom and a total of 19 hens for the whole day.

I also setup in a blind with my bow on Saturday. Called in 3 jakes and 2 mature birds. Center punched a longbeard at 10 yards but the recovery was unsucessful. First bird I've lost since I started bowhunting turkeys 8 years ago. Next weekend should be much better weather.

You said it!! It absolutely inhaled profusely!! (sucked) I didn't get a chance to hit the woods until around 3pm didn't hear anything. Stalked around, called, then jumped a bird when I came around a bush next to a field. It took off like it's a@# was on fire. Couldn't tell what it was.
This was in Yellow Bank WMA in the Payneville, KY area.

I hunt Peabody WMA. I stood in a downpour when daylight arrived. Never heard a peep until 11'ish or so. Worst opening day i can remember!
