New Orleans Hunting?

I have been thinking about joining the rebuilding effort and becoming a teacher in the New Orleans area. Seems like an already educationally troubled area got really slammed, so I think I can do my ownto better the situation the best I can.
Anywho..if I went down there I would still fiend to hunt. Do we have any Louisiana representatives here? Anyone ever done any archery hunting near New Orleans and if so for what? What sort of game animals are near New Orleans? How far from New Orleans is the nearest decent hunting?

I grew up in the middle of the state but I do know that there are several wildlife management areas near the big easy. Take a look at the LDWF web site at http://www.wlf.state.la.us/. They have a good map that links to the details of the property including access and game info.
