Default Florida Hunters- Avon Park

Anyone in Florida ever hunt Avon Park. I was thinking of trying to start hunting there. If so let me know, I love to hunt but nothing beats hunting with a group of friends. Also does the place hold some nice animals on it.

Yep! The old Bombing Range and Rattle Snake country! I always wore my Snake Boots at the Park!

Many nice deer have come out of AP.

Thanks for the info, I will check it out then. And where some snake boots, I almost got hit by a cotton mouth during christmas, it had been cold but one day got reallly warm and I walked right pass the snake, on the way out i noticed him rared back ready to strike, less than a foot away, i smoked him with a 31/2 inch mag 12 guage.... he was fat, and about 2-3 feet long....

Ed, do you mean West ofI-95? The only areas I'm familiar with in that neck of the woods is, Bull Creek, ThreeLakes, Triple N Ranch and Fort Drum. How close is this lease to one of these?

He must mean Deseret Ranch (Mormon). That used to be the place when I lived over there back in the 80's. Tons o deer on there but next to impossible to gain access unless you know the right people.

I'm in Sebring, a few friends got some nice bucks off the bombing range last year. Don't over look Arbuckle Manag. area. Took a nice 8pt. out of there. Has a lot of nice deer, didn't catch up to a 10 and 8 that I saw this year!
