Lousianna you can hunt gators.... Here in FL we just had a record year more permits issued this year than ever before. This is my second year doing it, just got back last week. took 8 gators total, two biggest even 10 and 11 foot.

If your interested if learning the process in FL send me a PM and I can tell ya all about it.

I know gators are edible but how much meat do you get from an average size gator assuming you are eating them. And what do you do with the hide, have boots made. I've never eaten gator and always wanted a pair of gator boots. I guess it tastes like chicken, right?

I've eatin gator fried, BBQ'd, and grilled. BBQ and grilled were excellent! Fried was okay but nuttin special.

Depending on size of course, but sometimes you can get quite a bit of meat from a gator. Friend of mine killed one 'bout 11 foot and claimed he got 20 lbs of meat just from the jaws.
