VA DGIF quota hunt question?

If you apply successfully for a Virginia quota deer hunt...What is the deal? Do they tell you where to hunt or are you supposed to go and scout?? Thanks

I have been on a number of quota and managed hunts in the state....you will get a letter or an email reply from the company that handles the drawing for the state..

It will tell you if you were drawn or if you did not get drawn.. If you were lucky enough to get drawn it will provide you with your hunt dates and any info needed...

I have been to hog island archery hunt a number of times and they send you a list of what to bring, rules for the hunt, a map of the property and a contact number for the P.O.C for the hunt... at that point they will inform you of when scouting can be performed etc....
