My teenage son just got a shotgun for Christmas. I would like to take him somewhere to practice shooting and just get used to the gun. We live in Chesapeake VA. Does anyone know of any land that he can go on just to get aquainted with his gun? He has already taken his hunter safety class.
VB has a public range, I believe it is called Virginia Beach Outdoor range. It's past Pungo off Marvin Road. I'm sure if you ask a shop about it they could give you better directions. If I remember correctly it will cost you around $20.
You can also shoot skeet and trap at the shotgun range at Oceana. $4.75/round (25 thrown clays) for non-military. I don't know if they have their own website, but this link has a phone # and directions: http://www.claytargetsonline.com/club.php/2273
