bad day to a gophers around my 17hmr

i got out shooting gophers at my sisters farm, i made my farthest shots yet with my marlin 917vs with a simmons 4-12x40 prohunter. i managed to take a gophers at 96 yards 103 yards and 155 yards using my bipods. i also took lots at about 60 yards. my rifle is sighted in at 75 yards so when i shot at the gopher at 155 yards i put the point where the duplex narrows to a point on the gopher and the rest is history.

I sat up on a bit of a rise overlooking the low spot of the field the gophers were running around on the other side and one finaly stoped by his mound. that was the gohper at 155 yards.
the other two i was sitting on top a of a dirt pile that was about 5 feet high i saw the gophers standing by there holes and shot him.

I don't know if they live here, but I've never seen a gopher in these parts. Wish they were at least more plentiful around here so I could harvest a few.

Yep it's a dandy. Working out of town and it's a fine HOJO Bedspread. That gopher pic is outside my window at the motel, there everywhere in town.
