Small Game, Predator and TrappingFrom shooting squirrels in your backyard to calling coyotes in Arizona. This forum now contains trapping information..
Here are a couple more I got in the same area of the South Fork State Recreation Area, this time in mid November. This pic was probably about 200 yards from where the first was taken.

Those are some nice bunnies! Also, although I've never hunted jacks, I understand them to be very fast when they want to be somewhere else. My congrats on picking that one off with the .223.
ks - The trick to hunting the Jacks with a single shot rifle is patience... LOTS of patience. I have fired at jacks only 4 shots since about last October. 3 kills. You have to follow them in your scope, and wait until they finally stop, which may be a while, or may be right away. The heavier the cover they are in, the faster they will stop. The longest shot I have ever taken on a jack hasn't been much more than about 200 yds. The one in the pic, and the two I have gotten this spring have been no longer than 50 yds. I shot at a lot last year, I missed a lot (close to 20 rounds, only 3 in one trip last summer). I finally realized that I was not taking my time, and found that it was much easier to relax and wait, and you could get more rabbits with fewer misses.

Thanks for the tip Charlie. And nodog, I used to live in several places in NV. Most people think it's ugly out there, but once you spend a couple years out there, it really grows on ya.
Yeah, there is something about it. Nevada sure does grow on you. There are so many hidden treasures that no one knows about its unreal. What most people think about when they hear Nevada is Las Vegas, Area 51, and Lake Tahoe (which is now becoming WAY overpopulated). Get away from those two hubs into the Northern, Eastern, and Central part of the state, and its absolutely beautiful without all the people running around. I think when you take away the population in Las Vegas, the Reno/Carson City/Lake Tahoe regions, there are maybe 100,000 people for the rest of the state!
