coon calling

has anyone ever tried calling coons before. if so could you give me some info on how you do it calls, time of day, and anything else. thanks

use a coon fight tape , wait an hour or two after dark and use a red lens on your light

Never heard of coon calling but hey it sounds.. umm......... FUN!

Used to call them in east Texas quite often. They will come to a rabbit destress call but there are coon calls available. The Burnham's was a good coon call. Just go out after dark and call all night if you are up to it. Be prepared as all the other predators will respond as well. The red or yellow lens on the light works very well and the critters don't spook as easily with them. You don't need a big gun as they are going to be in your lap! Be sure to check the laws in your area before you start.
