Rabbit Hunting Coming to a Close in Michigan

Well, I have until the 31st to finish up on some bunnies!! Going out rabbit hunting/shed hunting when the dogs aint barking!! Can't wait.. It had been a while since I have been out in the woods.. Girlfriend takes up alot of time!! I'll post tomorrow with my results.. Hopefully some bunny and horn?? That would be great!! How have you all done this year??

I got a total of 11 cottontails last season (Oct 10th - Feb 28th). I still have the camera in the jeep with the pictures on it.

I've gotten two rabbits so far this season, and both with my pellet gun and both within 5 yards.

Well, Well, Well.. Had to prove my beagles worthy again today!! Boy did they run the heck out of them rabbits!! Since they are just beginning to mate around here they run for ever and make huge circles instead of small ones.. So, I got 4 rabbits by noon and decided to put away the shotgun and let the dogs run without shotting.. They were on a bunny for about 45 minutes when he crossed about 10 yards in front of me and stopped.. So he ended up with a show of .22 pistol! Had a great last day of the season!! wow!! I wish it was open all year around here!! The DNR lets me run the beagles year round but can't carry no guns after Mar. 31... So Thursday is the actual closing date but I have dang school and practice so no hunting for me till next year!!
