Default .22 Caliber Rifle

I have never actually owned one of these (pathetic I know) I mainly use my buddies spares and I figured I should get off my lazy butt and purchase one, what is a really good one for $150 or under that has a scope on it and stuff?

You can get a Henry .22 lever action for around 180-190 bucks. It is HIGHLY accurate with the correct scope. I was shooting clay pigeons propped up at 190 yards.

The Savage and Marlin are both good 22's for the price. Just don't throw a crappy scope on it, and they'll shoot.

For about $400 you can get a Ruger 77/22 mine will put 10 shot under a nickel at 25 yards and I can put 5 shots under a 1/2" at 50 with a 4x scope. I love mine and would highly recomend it. The Ruger 10/22 is about $180 and it is a very good gun also.

i know you said you like bolt actions but the ruger 10/22 its lots of fun to shoot and can be very accurate for a stock rifle. i havent done anything to it and ill consistanly hit gopher at 50+ yards. with a 4x scope. plus if you want to customize it, it very easy ther eis an endless amount of products for it. if you decide to go autoloaders stay away from the remington 597, they jam alot.

Anyone heard anything about the Rossi Matched pair? It's a .22LR that quick-changes to a 12 ga. Talk about versatility. And it's only like $150. I've been thinking about picking one up.
