Crows are classified as migratory game birds under the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA). This treaty is an agreement with Canada, Mexico, ***an, Great Britan, Russia, and Mexico. The federal government, in the interest of the treaty, requires all states to set a hunting season on crows because they are not totally protected. Even though crows are "protected" by ffederal regulation, they may be killed whenever they are damaging crops or property.
Down here we have tons of crows. My dad bought 70 acres of land. He is developing it into a subdivision. I want to hunt there next year but I am not 100% sure that I will hunt that land. I also have another 265 acres that my dad closes on in a few weeks. I am going to plant a food plot on the land I am hunting. I want to get rid of the crows so they don't eat the beans. I have no problem shooting the crows over my plot because they are damaging my crops. I do not have a food plot yet so I do not know if I should start shooting them. I will have one made and I know the crows will destroy it. What should I do?
depends on the regs there is a crow season look it up on ur dnr site. i think in illinois crow is until march. either way i would shoot them pretty unlikely u will get caught
