Remington supposedly dropped it from its line for 2005. Not very popular among gun nuts, they are a low quality gun. They do shoot pretty well, but for the same money or close you can get a Savage.

im pretty sure my deer gun is a remington 710 30-06. went hunting with it this year and i think it shoots fine. took it to the range and was coming within an inch of bullseye at 100 yds. which i think isn't bad. also took it hunting and bagged a deer at about 150 yds. the shot rose quite a bit though, either that or it moved or something. i also use remington 30-06 ammo. not sure on the specifics on that though.

hope this was some help to you

Too much plastic for my taste.

They'll shoot OK, but I don't think it's a gun made for the long run.

So it is synthetic. i think that in the long run it'll out last some of those other non-"plastic" guns. but if it fires good and has good accuracy then i'll buy it.

Just for what its worth everyone that I have talked to about the 710 say its junk and feels more like a toy. Ever since Dupont took over Remington their quality has gone down hill. JMHO Jimmy
