Small Game, Predator and TrappingFrom shooting squirrels in your backyard to calling coyotes in Arizona. This forum now contains trapping information..
Today I asked for permission to take some coyotes (hopefully) off a friend of mines land. He said yes and he was willing to come with me. (I offered) But it is a large apple orchard. I looked at the land today and I was amazed at how many coyote tracks i seen in the inch of snow from last night. The apple orchard is in the middle of two tracts of small thick woods. I think what happeneds is the rabbits come to the orchard to eat the apples and the yotes get them. I have a predator call. Would you hunt near one of the wood lots, or look over the whole orchard. Focus more on the woods or orchard. Mind you we have weapon restrictions. We can use a rifle no larger than .22 and we can use shotguns with all type of loads. So I think I'm going to set my friend up with a .22 and I'm going to bring out my 12 gauge with some buckshot. Thanks for the input!! I can't wait!! - Buckhunter14

RE: Got Permission.. Now where would you hunt? (Yote)
so the higher ground is in the orchard??? If so find a big tree in the orchard on one of the sides and look into the woods. this might work im not sure though. Make sure you update us if you kill one.

Will do, I was debating it.. Still am, Still will be till the day I go... But I am thinking I might hunt the woods looking into the orchard because there is a river bottom on the other side of this orchard and maybe that is where they will be holding up until dark??
