i trap in ohio and i mink are ripping through the muskrat pop. i was wondering if any one found a good way to get rid of them???

This has been a common misconception in wildlife for a while now. A classic study was done a long time ago about the muskrat/mink interactions. The study took 25 years (in Iowa) and finally determined that 1) muskrat populations are not controlled by mink predation and mink are removing surplus animals 2) muskrat population numbers are determined by territorial hostility of muskrats toward one another, and the muskrats driven out by this hostility over space are getting killed my mink.

Sounds like your rat population is increasing. I would be trying hard to trap both and capitalize on it.
