Default Congested woods??

As I mentioned in another thread, I'm new to hunting, but plan on hunting squirrel here shortly. Here is my question, bow hunting for deer has the same season dates as squirrel hunting, with the same times. I plan on wearing a bright orange vest to make myself obvious to hunters, but since I'll be hunting on public land, what is the right protocal should I happen upon another hunter, who may be going after deer or otherwise?? I don't want to spook anyone's game off, nor piss anybody off, but nor do I want to tiptoe around everyone.

Thanks

I bow hunt. And plan on squirrel hunting soon.

Technically its "public" land. Everyone has the same right to be there. However...hunting ethics...

In NJ, shotgun squirrel hunting conincides with bow deer hunting. 99.99% of the time bow deer hunters are all camo. That being said do not feel bad if you do not see them right away. Squirrel hunters must wear orange in NJ.

If I saw a squirrel hunter while bow hunting I would probably yell "hello buddy, yo buddy" instead of waving my arms. I do not want to get shot. As a bow hunter I would expect the guy to keep on moving along...knowing my position.

Thats it. And hopefully, the squirrel hunter pushes the deer around to me!

Oh yeah...almost forgot...good luck!

Also, tommorrow I will be bow hunting on public land... so what? I'll tell you what... in NJ its opening day for small game (ie, pheasants)....most likely the "orange army" will push a deer to me.

I cannot wait until tomorrow!

I bow hunt and bird hunt on public land . If I see a bow hunter when I am hunting I wave and walk away to not impact his hunt and maybe push deer to him. When I am bow hunting I like the same curticy ,don't yell and act like a fool ,I saw and heard you long before you saw me.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Fortunately, I went hunting on private land....did run into three deer stands, but no one was home. Should I come upon another hunter I'll be sure to be curtious.

Thanks again and happy hunting.
