anyone still out doin some yote hunting?

anyone do any yote hunting this time of the year. i tried it during the winter with out anything even talkin back to me. and i had an e caller. but i am thinkin maybe i should get out and see. cuz i seen a dead deer( road kill) and then next the yotes had her all ate up.

well hopefully ill start by the end of this week or early next week. it will be my first time. im waiting for my dad to pick up some shells and a rabbit distress call for me.

I'm gonna wait for fall , the 'skeeters right now will carry a man away...lol. Around here we like to wait for the 'yotes get their winter coat then we'll ship out the hides to the fur auction . Lot's of fellas like to use Walker hounds to chase them out and these ol' boys can shoot !! Seen these fellas make 1 shot kills on a running 'yote quite a few times out past 100yds . When I see one coming my way , I'll whistle and they hit the brakes , giving me a shot...lol .243's seem to be the popular rifle but I have a Marlin .22mag that knocks them down ok . I don't have the reach the .243 has but the .22mag doesn't damage the pelt near as much. Baiting can be sorta hit 'n miss . I tried the roadkill thing a few times but for some reason they seem to know when somethings up . There is one thing which I recently found out tho....A farmer friend has had 'yotes come right up to the house and eat the food for the dang cats ! I just might try a can of cat food next time !...lmao

I have kinda stayed low the last couple of weeks.Will start back pretty strong in a couple of weeks. This time of year is hard cant see as far and as mentioned already the skeeters and heat.

It's been too hot here but I plan on getting out as soon as it cools down some. These are some of the calls I'll be carrying this year. All of them are awesome sounding calls.

Hopefully i can get out soon. I just moved from the MO to PA and i havnt found a place to hunt yet....but boy do i love huntin them yotes
