Default groundhogs

Has anyone herd of groundhogs climbing trees?

Yep. And had my dog tree a few of them too. They are a rodent just like a squirrel. and if they can't get to their hole in time to escape danger, they'll go up a tree.

Groundhogs love mullberry leaves and berrys ,I watched even large ones climb a tree and PIG out.

I've never heard or have seen a groundhog climb a tree. But do think that would be the coolest damn thing I ever
saw if I was hunting and one took off up a tree. And I thought hunting trees was mainly for squirrels !!

My coon dog treed one three mournings ago. She got a nice surprise from her e collar for treeing trash though. I was kind of surprised to see him up in the crotch of the tree.

One of the first groundhogs I shot as a kid was about 20' up a maple tree. My beagle treed it, and I shot it out.
