Default How to use a Snare?

Hey guy's I am thinking of using a snare for small animals this winter.

I am looking to see some tips or advice on how and the best ways to use them.

I am going to try out small animals on trails..

I first need to know how to set it up?

Thanks

What size are they?
Are they locking or non locking?

I use 3/16 for coyotes, foxes, coons, and whatever else I trap. And we It is Illegal to use locking snairs here in Kentucky. I would check before I tried to snair rabbits cause I think you may need a permit or something like that, I don't know. The best ways to use them are to find a good trail that you know the animals are using and what kind of animals are running it cause you have to set the snair accordinaly to what kind of animal it is. For example; For coyote, about 8 inches from the ground and 10-12 in Diameter. Here are some pictures on how to set a snair.

First Fassen the snair to a tree or something sturdy

Fix the Diameter in the loop of the Snair;

Put the Wire Stake in the Ground Ready to put on the Snair

Attach the Wire to the snair

Put a couple sticks on both sides to the animals will have to go through the middle. In return it goes right to your snair.

Hope this helps. If you would like anymore help ask. By the way www.trapperman.com Has helped me out alot.

THanks
