Is the .243 big enough to quickly kill a thick skinned, 200 pound wild hog at say 100 yards? It seems like a versatile caliber, but what are it's limitations? Deer...yes, Varmints....definitely, but Wild hogs.....???
I never used an .243 on hogs but i would think if you shot in the right place in vitals, it would do some damage if not an instant kill. Just my two cents

the 243 is all I shoot, and have for the past 30 years.I have taken more hogs than I can count.I can't remember ever loosing one,and not had any go very far.
The 243 with 100 grain PSP is a fine load for hogs.

remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.
Tree climber,
What is the longest shot you have taken on a hog with a .243 and how quickly did it drop. Just curious, because I've never hunted hogs and I would like to get into it.
