Default Benchrest bags for varmint rifles

I'll be picking up my new Savage 12BVSS 22-250 in a week or so. I went to place an order for a Protektor owl ear front bag and realized I didn't know which size was appropriate. This model has the heavy stock with the wider fore-end. Which bag (medium or wide) do you varmint rifle shooters use for your benchrest?

have you tried a bipod. they work great off the bench and great in the field. it is hard to drag a sandbag threw the woods to shoot off. may as well practice of something you can use in the woods.
