Default Ya'll ever catch hunting dogs in your traps?

We set out traps for foxes and ended up catching deer dogs (mostly beagles.)
Ya'll ever do that?

I've done it a few times, dang beagles and I've caught some pets also.
I let them all go but warned the owners that there were traps in the woods and to handle their dogs with some caution.

On the 650 (we'll call it) do you inform the dog owners that they need to keep their dogs out of that area for trapping reasons?

I would----once

interesting to find this thread. I just sent a dog home today after a week and a half in the clinic. he came in on a saturday, extremely dehydrated, emaciated, and with his right rear leg DEAD and black below the stifle. Could see bone at that point. I amputated it and started the rehab. he is getting along good on the remaining three now. dont have definite onfirmation but had to be caught in a trap. Law in Illinois says you have to check traps daily- obviously this guy wasnt doing that. Yes, the dog should have stayed home, but a daily check would have saved his leg.
