I have used 3" 2oz lead 2s, 3" #4 buck, and lead BBs. They have all worked very well. You really have to pattern your shotgun to be sure what if patterns best with for each load. I recently picked up some 3" remington Hevishot 2s and think that these might be dynamite for preadators. I perfer to use lead over steel because steel loses energy so fast but hevishot, bismouth, and tungstun are all heavier than lead and should work even better than lead. They cost more but might very well be worth it. If you find the right choke and load combo you will find the shotgun can be very effective all the way out to 60-70 yards. Buy a few and try a few.

I like a Patternmaster choke along with a 3in shell loaded with 4 buck. Sure works for me. The Pattern out to about 45 yards is very tight in my 870 also have one for my 10 ga Browning Gold. I believe they are supposed to throw 100 % patterns about 45 yards or some such. Anyway they are very good medicine for predators.

thx all i know i gotta have a good pattern but i was just wondering what the smallest shot size is that u could use for coyotes....i think ill try sum 3 1/2" magnum BB or maybe #4 buck....which would be the best choice?

what is the best tactic for gettin coyotes? they r startin to kill a few turkeys in my hunting area so i want to annihilate the coyote population there....

im currently building a live trap that is gonna be made of electrical conduit and welded wire fencing. its gonna be 5ft long, 2ft wide and 2ft high with either a chain that u tie bait to for them to pull to set off the trap or a metal plate on the bottom that they step on to set off the trap. u can go here:

http://www.gsu.edu/~biojdsx/fowl/fabcops.htm

that is the same thing but mine is gonna be half the size.....

what is the BEST way to get rid of coyotes and fox in a bush? im talking about ANY way of getting rid of them not just shooting or trapping them...ill try/use ANYTHING.

thx for the help
