Squirrel question

There is a local tackle company here that buys squirrel tails to make fishing flies with. What do I have to do to get the tails ready? Thanks in advance.

the easiest way would to go to the tackle shop and ask them how they want the tails then you can go from there

search for mann' s spinners i think....ah just search for squirrel tails for spinners....theres a major company that pays like $.25 per tail i just forget wut its called....im pretty sure they just want borax put on the flesh of the tail....they mentioned a few other ways but all ya gotta do is make sure the tail is dried somehow be4 sending it.

PS....i think they give an xtra $.05 per tail if its big and bushy in perfect condition

When I was a kid my dad and I would save our squirrel tails for a few years and trade them in for lures. It was a really big deal for me back then. Great way to get lures. Actaully, 20-25 years later, I still have a few of them in my tackle boxes.

Mepps lures is 40 minutes away from here and i think they give you a buck each
