Default Which gun to buy?

So I want to buy a dedicated coyote gun. I know I want a 22 250. I don't really need a bull barrel becuse it a coyote gun. The problem is I don't know what gun to buy. I have looked at the Model 70 featherweight which I own a 270. I like the Winchester gun. I have also looked at Kimber, Christensen Mesa, and many others. What do you guys have and what would you suggest? Budget is around $1200 or so. Thanks for your help.

I prefer wood over laminate but up for suggestions. Most shots would be under 300 yards but would like to be able to shoot 500 if needed.

I have and have hunted with since the late 80's a savage 110.I put simmons 4-12x40 on it the day i bought it, It has been a very accurate and reliable rifle all these years. A few years ago I bought a Remington 700 in 22-250 that shoots pretty good as well but not quit as well as the 110. I have always wanted to try one in the model 70 (beautiful rifles) but not sure I need another 22-250 and for the extra cost I am sure that its not going to shoot any better than the savage

well I have many 22-250's but all were heavy barreled rifles, and like you I wanted a lighter one for walking and coyote hunting
so a few yrs back, I started looking, and I found the Mossberg Patriot rifle to about fit my needs
http://www.mossberg.com/category/ser...sberg-patriot/

now they make it ion a TON of different configurations, they didn;t have at the time I got mine
but its been super accurate sub 1 MOA on factory ammo, and with some playing I am sun 1/2 MOA now

a lot of nice features for not a lot of cash, little crude on machining and cycling of bolt , but for a beater gun I don't have a lot of $$ into, its very accurate and does all I want
I snow camo'd mine , as most times I hunt it seems to be in snow any more?
but it gets my vote

Howa 1500 Lightweight, they can be had for around $350-400, then spend the remainder of your budget on ammo and a quality scope.

Just saw you want wood tho...the Howa isn't much help in that regard.
