There are all kinds of larger hounds, English fox hounds, American fox hounds black and tan etc. Just google running foxes with dogs. However, most of the time when there is a problem with a dog, it isn't the breed causing the problems, it is the person training or not training the dog.

Used to hunt with a guy that had three small bench leg beagles that he tried breaking on rabbits when they were all over a year old and had a really hard time breaking them. He kept jumping coyotes in the thickets and eventually would let the dogs run em. We killed a couple coyotes trying to sneak by us but mostly they would run off and the beagles would wear out and go so slow you had to pick them up and put em in the box. I would not recommend using beagles.
