Small Game, Predator and TrappingFrom shooting squirrels in your backyard to calling coyotes in Arizona. This forum now contains trapping information..
I have a 48" 50 cal blowgun and i want to bring it up to school. there are tons of seaguls/crows/pidgeons everywhere, and a gull crapped on my friend last year...the problem is there are lots of hippies up at school that would kill me if i killed a few birds, not ot mention campus cops. besides nightly covert opperations, any idea how i can manage the population of birds?
Put some Alka-Seltzer (sp?) in a piece of bread... The bird eats it, and when it goes to drink water it blows up... Pretty goary stuff...

the hippies woud like the idea that i would shoot them with the blowgun as it gives them a " fighting chance" as opposed to a .30-06 where i could just pick ' em off from the dorm window. Then best place to get a hippie is out in front of the library the next time an animal tested product gets put on the shelves
All of the ideas presented are illegal , and should be . I lived in a beach community for years , there is no legal way to control them .
Kev - He didnt ask for anything legal, just ideas, and, it isnt illegal unless he' s caught!

i knew a guy in college. this was over the summer semester when the number of students living on campus in the dorms were about 200. during the fall and spring semesters it' s more like 5000 students living on campus. needless to say, it was real real boring that summer. there are several wooded areas and this section of dorms was by the woods and next to a lake. he took a 36" clothes hanger rod, a hollow 3/4 inch aluminum tube and made a blow gun out of it. used a 3 inch piece of dowel and attatched an x-acto knife blade to the end. this blade was like a tip of a spear, it was oblong and had razors on both sides. for the other end, he just made a cone of paper and cut the ends so it was kind of frizzy. it was fairly accurate but didn' t penetrate.
then he used these BIG sewing needles, 5 to 6 inches long with a tail made out of gauze and tape. they penetrated but didn' t cause much bleeding. hit a squirrel, and the dart would stay in the animal as it ran up a tree and would be lost. the x-acto darts were good on birds. missed one bird in a tree and the dart stuck in the limb underneath it. went back 3 years later and the dart was still in the tree.
he got in trouble for the blowgun. they said it was a weapon. their definition was that the tube could be used to strike or club someone. he asked " then why do you allow baseball bats in the students rooms?" . their answer " baseball bats are meant for hitting baseballs and are not a weapon."
