Default Bowhunting Coyotes?

Anyone out there bowhunting coyotes? I have called coyotes for over 20yrs, but I've been thinking about taking the bow out a bit lately as a new challenge.

I can definitely see where an electronic caller would come in handy, drawing the dogs (and their attention) past me, instead of directly towards me.

Any other tricks or tips? How much difference are your set ups compared to rifle hunting?

Good for you.

If you can kill coyotes with a bow from the ground on any regular bases, you're ready to still hunt any whitetail, muley or whatever.............

Go get'em !!!

I'll admit I've never bowhunted yotes before, but I've taken a lot with a shotgun over the years, surely it's not that much different?

Of course being able to hold a draw for a LONG time will probably be necessary, since it'll be nearly impossible to draw once the dog is 30yrds away without being spotted, but surely a guy can manage?

Like I said, I'm all for a challenge. My wife is actually what gave me the idea. She was flipping through my "Bow trophy album" and asked why I didn't have any pics of coyotes with my bow (we're pretty avid coyote callers). I didn't have a good answer. I've taken black bear, antelope, whitetails, and turkey with a bow, plus countless fish and small game (including prairie dogs, talk about a GOOD TIME!!!), but have never taken a bow after dogs?

A good e-caller with a remote and a decoy is your best bet IMO.

Good luck !

A TURKEY mouth call, correct? I guess that gives me a good excuse to become a better turkey caller!

I had 1 Coyote come in close enough for me to shoot it with a Bow...I ended up missing it but it was a rush to have one in that close for a shot.I'm thinking if You put out some Coyote urine it may help to get one in a lot closer...I think they even make some Urine when the Females are In-Heat but I'm thinking it is used during the breeding season like Dec/Jan months?
