Default Coywolves

I'd say this is true. Biologists have proven with DNA studies that the "Red Wolf" of the eastern US was nothing more than a Grey Wolf - Coyote hybrid.

No reason it couldn't keep on hybridizing over and over again creating new generations of coy-wolves.

Very plausible.
