I' ve only killed three so far this year. One I called in with a cottontail screamer and the other two just happened to walk by within range while I was sitting up in the hills, doing nothing.

i allmost killed two coyotes tonight.we was coon huntin and the dogs was running and then all of a sudden the dogs was boogie barkin at the coyotes. so we walked over to the dogs and there they was two coyotes chasing our dogs. we always carry a gun in the truck so we went back a got it went back where the dogs was and the coyotes was a 100 yards away to far for a 22.we did not get them . we are going to go coyote huntin this weekend. i know where they are livin.
In this record heat wave are you kidding. I' m been looking for shade every day, so I' m guessing the coyotes are doing the same. Need cooler, NO, need much much cooler weather before even bothering to look for a coyote. The pups are probably full of grasshoppers anyways!
