Hunting foxes or coyotes in my backyard?

i live in illinois and within the city limits of Montgomery. i was just wondering if i could hunt foxes or coyotes. in my backyard there are woods and a public ravine. just wondering?

i would doubt it. Check the city regulations for discharge of weapons. They may allow guns or bows. if they allow you to shoot, and it's the proper season.....go have some fun

I would check with the city manager first. I would more than likely guess not. Depending on where at within the limits of the city you lay, you might be able to sneak away with a bow or high powered air rifle, if you are lucky, doubtful though. I live in Illinois as well.

Sec. 12-20. Discharging firearms.
(a) Prohibited. It shall be unlawful to fire or discharge any firearm in the village except on premises used by a duly authorized trap club, gun club, or rifle club.
(b) Exemptions. The provisions of this section shall not apply to the discharge of firearms by police or other officers in the performance of their duties.

I looked it up and this is what i got. idk if i can shoot shotguns or not??
