Default Scope on pump air gun, good decision?

I got my Benjamin 397 pump, in part due to the suggestions of people on this board. I have been shooting pointed pellets, but had to nearly bury the front sight in the " V" to shoot somewhat accurately, and even then wasn' t too accurate.

Anyway, I got a BSA air rifle scope, 2 x 7, and can now shoot to within an inch or two at aout 17 yards.

Question, how much of a problem will I have being halfway accurate in the field? I guess I could try adding pumps if I am further away, etc. but just curious on your thoughts.

It is more accurate now than when I had open sights. I have to lean in to get the field of view, but that' s how the scope sits on it. I needed rings that weren' t too low because the bolt action needs room.

Just for birds or mice or chipmunks or grouse or cans, etc. Mostly birds...

Yes. I use those pointed pellets. It is a bolt action pump pellet gun.

that' s a hard question to answer. like " how fast can i run, swim, etc." you just have to experiment yourself and see what you are capable of with the gun at various distances.
