Post Rabbit hunting domestic rabbits

Hello fello hunters.. Im a hunter who lives in southeastern new hampshire and i really want to rabbit hunt on my property but there is NO RABBITS!!!! i live in the deep woods with swamps, many hills, no coyotes, dense forests and the closest house to me is 200 yrds, perfect rabbit habitat. So i just came up with this crazy idea of buying rabbits and letting them loose so they can populate in the wild even though they are domestic. Im not sure if this will really work and i dont feel like wasting money and time so please give me your thoughts on wether this is a good idea or not.Note: i been living there for 15 years and have never seen a rabbit out in the woods or in my garden happy huntin

Don't waste your time or money. Domestic Rabbits are just that, domestic. They won't last long enough into the season to populate and be huntable. I would even venture that there are rabbits in your area, you just aren't seeing them. If you start looking for them, you should find them, under low hanging trees, along the water ways, around brush piles.

If you just want a few to eat, than eat the ones that you intended to buy anyway.
Also, releasing domesticated rabbits may be illegal in your area, so check with the DNR or appropriate game agency prior to doing anything like this.

make some brushpiles, if there are rabbits they will come. My grandpa has about 10 brush piles in his yard. In the winter he shoots alot of rabbits, we take turns jumping on them and shooting.
