Good luck getting it out once you catch it!

More like good luck catching one. Don't here about to many caught in live traps. Need to get rid of all you scent and try to blend the trap in. Maybe between round bales.

Why are you trying to "live" trap it? What type of trap are you using?

I dont try to get them in live traps but from time to time i get one. If you get the trap smelly from catching a cat you are golden. Then some good coyote urine near the front and a little beaver castor in back. Park it between a couple round bails or between a couple squares. Then cover the top and hope you dont get a skunk first!

I used to build some custom Coyote traps that had a small escape spot for Skunks and Coons. PETA would have a fit but best thing I found to get them to go into the trap was a barn cat in a small cage behind my live cage and I'd put hay bails all over the thing minus the opening. Usually worked pretty well. Though I have to admit trapping them in the live cage was not on my high list of things I liked to do with Coyotes. I prefered shooting them or snaring them.

I gotta agree with you. A snare is a coyotes worst enemy. And foot hold traps are right behind it. Coyotes are not so hard to trap, ya just gotta stop making it hard.
