Default trap modification

How to you get the top top jaw on a coilspring to sit flat? i have 5 duke 1/2 coilsprings that wont lay flat and wanted to know if i can fix them?thanks!

Alot of my traps are like that, but actually when the jaws are not laying all the way down it makes for a faster SNAP! Infact I purposely leave mine halfway up, when I am trappin coyotes cause yotes tend to have quick reflexes, and so the further up, the quicker the SNAP! So it actually is not really a bad thing.

Actually it does not make a difference whether its not all the way down.
